Preparing People and Aircraft for Mission Service Throughout the World
2011 Annual Inspection
Highlights of 2011
The year has found us expectantly waiting on the Lord to refine who we are as a ministry, and seeking how He will continue to use us in a changing world. Our desire is to stay relevant to the needs of missionaries, not to "change for change sake" but "change for His sake."

Our Board of Directors is working on developing an option to offer both Bible and Aviation courses online. A cross-section of coursework is now in the testing phase. All of Missionaire’s coursework will eventually be online, including Bible and Mission Prep, Flight Training syllabi (Private, Commercial, Instrument, Mountain ratings), and Maintenance Training syllabi, allowing students to log in and begin working through our curriculum at any time. Students will have the advantage of setting up a daily or monthly individualized plan of study, work at their own pace, and stay on task with their goals.
Not only will our own candidates be able to utilize the online option, but also candidates with other mission organizations. This is something we are really excited about, as it will provide increased learning opportunities for a wider audience of people planning to serve in missions.
More Highlights
Two Orientation Weeks introduced prospective trainees to our ministry and programs.
The Sky is the Limit Airport Tours introduced our local community to Missionaire and other aspects of what goes on at the Tompkinsville Airport.
Missionaire and Tompkinsville Aviation hosted the first annual Kentucky Airport Challenge in July, bringing in pilots from around the region.More Open Doors

Students learn the science of aviation with flight
simulators, direct classroom instruction, and by working in a controlled lab
experience at the Missionaire hangar. Students taking either class earn
science credit. Classes compete in state-wide Design-Build-Fly competitions,
designing components for remote-controlled airplanes. Last year our freshmen
students set a world record
with their unique design.
Our Missionaire staff volunteers their time to teach the classes and facilitate related activities. Why a high school program? Youth in this area, described as "the Buckle on the Bible Belt," have a strong church background – we hope to kindle the idea of mission service as a career to this upcoming generation. Another key benefit is the opportunity to serve our community, mentoring and discipling our local youth.
